[ARCHIVED] Camden County Welcomes New Director of Solid Waste

In this role, Mr. Barkley will direct overall landfill operations for the Construction and Demolition (C & D), Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), and the Old Still Yard Waste sites, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.  


Mr. Barkley has 25 years of experience in solid waste and landfills. In addition to his tenure in Macon, Barkley served as the Landfill Manager and then the Assistant Director of Solid Waste for the City of Griffin, Georgia.  Previously, Barkley worked as a chemist and laboratory technician providing an important technical foundation for the complex chemistry of solid waste management and associated environmental protection regulations. 


“I am pleased to welcome Kevin to Camden County and look forward to him leading the Solid Waste Department,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “His experience and knowledge will benefit the county as he leads our excellent Solid Waste team.”


Mr. Barkley has an Associate in Applied Science Degree from New York State University at Morrisville and is a State of Georgia Certified Landfill Operator. He begins work in Camden County on December 17, 2018.
