[ARCHIVED] Camden County Receives Coastal Incentive Grant

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of a Coastal Incentive Grant from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the United States Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The $60,436 grant will be used to implement a Rise Ready education and outreach program, as well as create an online flood hazard decision support tool for Camden County Residents.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to provide specific information to local residents,” said Grants Manager Julie Haigler. “Once this project is complete, Camden County citizens will have more data to help them make educated decisions about their potential flood hazards.”

The Nature Conservancy and the Coastal Regional Commission are partnering to assist with creating the new outreach materials and developing the website component of the tool. Other partners include the City of St. Marys and the University of Georgia’s Marine Extension.
