Atlantic Hurricane Season is from June 1st - November 30th. As a coastal community, it is important that all Camden County residents take steps to plan ahead before tropical weather is projected to affect our area. The 2023 Camden County Hurricane Guide is a good place to start learning about the steps you and your family should take to prepare for possible tropical activity.
History teaches that a lack of hurricane awareness and preparation are common threads among all major hurricane disasters. By knowing your vulnerability and what actions you should take, you can reduce the effects of a hurricane disaster. The goal of this Hurricane Preparedness page is to inform the public about the hurricane hazards and provide knowledge which can be used to take ACTION.
This information can be used to save lives at work, home, while on the road, or on the water. Hurricane hazards come in many forms: storm surge, high winds, tornadoes, and flooding. This means it is important for your family to have a plan that includes all of these hazards.

Hurricane Registry for Those with Function, Access, or Medical Needs
The Camden County Health Department maintains a Hurricane Registry which is made up of residents who may require transport and medical assistance during a hurricane evacuation and have no other resources such as family, friends, neighbors, or church members to help them if they need to evacuate. Residents must apply to be on the registry. To apply, residents should call the Camden County Health Department at 912-882-8515. Applications are required to be added to the Hurricane Registry.
