[ARCHIVED] Two New Apparatus Added to Camden County Fire Rescue Fleet

At their November 2, 2021, regular meeting, the Camden County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of an E-ONE 4-door Rescue Pumper and a 3,000-gallon Tanker for Camden County Fire Rescue.

“These new apparatus will help us better serve Camden County through updates to our frontline response vehicles,” said Camden County Fire Rescue Chief Terry Smith. “We thank the Board of Commissioners for their continued support of Camden County Fire Rescue.”

The $334,989 E-ONE 4-door Rescue Pumper Engine will replace the current Engine 14 and is anticipated to take 360-400 days to be built. The 3,000-gallon tanker will replace the current Tanker 18 and it is anticipated to take 120 days to be built for a cost of $259,133. Both new apparatus will be purchased through the unincorporated fund.

These new apparatus are part of the nearly $3.7 million in new buildings, equipment, and apparatus in the last four (4) years. Since 2017, Camden County Fire Rescue has purchased one (1) new tanker truck, three (3) new engines, one (1) new firehouse, four (4) ambulances, and nearly $500,000 in equipment and tools.

In June, the Camden County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of two ambulances to be paid through Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) VIII funds.
