After their recent regular meeting teleconference, the Camden County Board of Commissioners issued a proclamation recognizing Tuesday, September 22, 2020, and the fourth Tuesday of every September, as National Voter Registration Day. Staff members of the Camden County Board of Elections and Registration (BoER) are joining thousands of national, state, and local organizations by participating in events and activities recognizing National Voter Registration Day.
“We are excited to continue participating in National Voter Registration Day,” said Elections Supervisor Shannon Nettles. “We have fantastic community partners that are assisting in our efforts to ensure that all Camden County citizens have ample opportunities to register to vote.”
Locally, community volunteers from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 511 are hosting a Voter Registration Drive on Saturday, September 19 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Kingsland Lions Park on South Grove Blvd. and on Sunday, September 20 at the St. Marys Wee Pub on Osborne Road from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. An additional event will be held to assist our local high school students with the voter registration process.
The deadline to register to vote for the November 3rd General Election is October 5, 2020. Advance In-Person Voting begins Tuesday, October 13 in Kingsland and Woodbine at 8:00 a.m. with additional early voting opportunities in St. Marys the week of October 26-30.
