The plan primarily addresses natural hazards such as flooding, coastal storms, tornadoes, wildfire, etc. and includes some technological or man-made hazards such as hazardous material release. This plan update is required to be eligible for future FEMA pre- and post-disaster mitigation funding such as through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).
A public (virtual Zoom) kickoff meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 24th at 5:00 PM to discuss the plan update process and to solicit feedback on hazards. If you would like to participate to find out more about the planning process and how you can complete a survey about how hazards have impacted you, please send your e-mail your contact information (e-mail address) to Camden County Emergency Management Agency (camdenema@co.camden.ga.us ) and an Outlook Invite will be forwarded to you in advance of the meeting.
Additionally, a website has been created where the survey and other information about the planning process is housed. You can access the Camden County Hazard Mitigation Planning Website at www.camdencountyga-hmp.com.
