Hazard Mitigation Plan

The purpose of the Camden County Multi‐Hazard Mitigation Plan is to create a safer community for Camden County residents by reducing or eliminating the long‐term risk to human life,  property, and environmental degradation from hazards. This purpose will be accomplished by creating a planning document that becomes the foundation for emergency management  planning, training, and preparedness, and by identifying those hazard mitigation projects that  will reduce the impact of future hazard events.

The 2016 Camden County Joint Hazard Mitigation Plan Update (PDF) is the most recently completed Hazard Mitigation Plan. An update to this plan is occurring in 2020.

Camden County is updating its 2016 plan to better protect the people and property of the region from the effects of nation and human caused hazards and to maintain eligibility for mitigation funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). On 2020 Hazard Mitigation Plan Update website you can find information about upcoming meetings, take a survey on hazard risk and mitigation options to inform the plan’s development, review draft documents and view summaries of the hazards that affect Camden County.
