No Cost Swimming Lessons
Camden County has dedicated to use ARPA revenue loss funds to help the children in our community in a partnership with the City of St. Marys.
The Camden County Public Service Authority (PSA) has a heated pool and is willing to provide year around swimming instruction. Camden County and the City of St. Marys have committed $25,000 to provide 200 children with no cost swimming lessons.
Why Swimming Lessons?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death for children under the age of 14. Each day in the US 11 children die of drowning and another 22 suffer non-fatal drowning injuries that can lead to permanent disabilities.
