Camden County Issues Burn Ban

The Fire Chiefs of Camden County (Camden County Fire Chief, Kingsland Fire Chief, and St. Marys Fire Chief), along with the local Georgia Forestry unit, have implemented a County-wide burn ban until further notice.

Weather conditions are at an extreme with our current drought situation. The biggest request to our community is to please respect the burn ban. Our crews and resources are stretched and very limited. Even the smallest of fires can trigger a disaster in the area. It will take all of us to ensure that we are kept safe. We will issue a press release and post on Social Media when the ban is lifted.

Camden County Firefighters, along with many others from nearby communities, have been working extremely hard on the fires in Camden and Charlton Counties. Camden County crews, along with personnel from St. Marys and Kingsland fire departments have been stretched very thin. As always, our community wants to help with donations and meals. Questions of concern and where and what to bring for donations are plentiful and we greatly appreciate the support!

If you would like to make a donation, please see the list of items below that our firefighters are in need of. Items may be dropped off at any of the fire stations and all donations will be transported to Charlton County for distribution. Please do not give money.

                    Drinking water                             Baby Wipes

                    Gatorade                                    Bug Spray

                    Snacks                                       Bandanas, Large

                    Paper towels                               Hand Sanitizer

                    Coolers                                       Ice

We thank you for your cooperation with this ban and for all of your donations.
